Save the Date for the 2023 St. Louis National Assembly, “Where It All Began.”
The National Council Society of St. Vincent de Paul started in St. Louis in 1845 at the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France, most commonly known here in St. Louis as “The Old Cathedral.”
Did you know that the first time St. Louis hosted the Annual Assembly was 1904, the same year the World’s Fair was held in St. Louis!
In April 1904, St. Louis opened its doors to the world for what was officially called the Louisiana Purchase Exposition but was widely known as the St. Louis World’s Fair. Spread over 1200 square feet, and 1500 buildings, During the course of the year, the expo was visited by more than 20 million people.
