Lord, when I have failed to succeed in persuading anyone to another course of action, it was probably because of my impatient and aggressive manner. Create in me a gentle patience that respects the views of others and seeks to persuade in a non-threatening manner.
Señor, cuando he fallado al tratar de persuadir a alguien de proceder de manera distinta, fué probablemente por mi impaciencia y manera agresiva de proponerlo. Crea en mi una paciencia gentil que respete los puntos de vista de otros, y que busque el persuadir de una forma no intimidante.

Lord, help me to recognize the good in others and try to win them to you with kindness and encouragement.
Señor, ayúdame a reconocer lo bueno en los demás y de tratar de ganármelos para ti con amabilidad y ánimo.

Sometimes the poor can be very demanding and want their needs met at the most inconvenient times. When these situations arise, remind me, Lord, that I am their servant.
Algunas veces las personas pobres pueden ser bastante demandantes y quieren que cubramos sus necesidades a las horas más inconvenientes. Cuando estas situaciones suceden, recuérdame Señor, que yo soy su siervo.

Lord, I want to show your goodness to others but sometimes my shortcomings seem to prevail. Help me to become the person you want me to be so others can see your image in me.
Señor, quiero demostrar tu bondad a otros pero algunas veces mis faltas parecen prevalecer. Ayúdame para llegar a ser la persona que tu quieres que.

I will pray today for fortitude, that wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit, which will enable me to overcome whatever stands in the way of my union with God and service to others.
Hoy oraré por fortaleza, ese regalo maravilloso del Espíritu Santo, el cual me permite sobreponerme a cualquier cosa que se interponga en el camino de mi unión con Dios y servicio a otros.

“Aid the sick in a constructive way and call upon their cooperation.” – St. Vincent de Paul
“Ayuden al enfermo en una forma constructiva y busquen su cooperación.” – San Vicente de Paul
Sometimes sick people fail to cooperate because they are afraid or disturbed by their lack of control over their situation. Help me, Lord, to be a sensitive listener so I can become aware of their unspoken concerns.
Algunas veces las personas enfermas no cooperan en su tratamiento porque se sienten temerosas o alteradas por su falta de control sobre la situación. Ayúdame, Señor, a escucharlos y ser sensitivo a sus palabras para poder reconocer sus preocupaciones.

“I have always shunned performing good deeds in one place to gain credit in another.” – St. Vincent de Paul
“Yo siempre he rechazado el hacer una obra buena en un lugar para ganar crédito en otro.” – San Vicente de Paul
Heavenly Lord, preserve me from that way of the world which is always seeking its own gain for actions performed for others.
Padre Celestial, guárdame de las tendencias de este mundo aquellas en las que uno busca su propia ganancia a través de acciones realizadas por los demás.

Lord, how painful it is to be misunderstood! At those times, instead of trying to justify myself I will remember your example and remain in peace.
¡Señor, cuan doloroso es el ser malentendido! En esos momentos, en lugar de tratar de justificarme recordaré tu ejemplo y permaneceré en paz.

O God, see my poverty and have pity on me. Enable me to share freely the gifts you have given and find true contentment even in the middle of pain and sorrow.
O Dios, ve mi pobreza y ten compasión de mi. Permíteme poder compartir libremente los regalos que me has dado y encontrar verdadera felicidad aun en medio del dolor y la aflicción.
